Down The Plughole?

I can't say I have ever particularly warmed to Tottenham Hotspur as a team.

But a soft-hearted girl like me can't help but feel a bit sorry for them.

There is clearly something wrong at a very deep level there. They are definitely in trouble.

So who's to blame?

Well of course there is increasing finger pointing at the manager, Signor Ramos.

Then what about this whole business of the quality of players, particularly in the light of the outcome of the summer transfer season, when they sold key players but didn't replace them.

Footballing decisions or the sign of a club in financial trouble?

My instinct tells me that simply sacking the manager isn't going to fix things, although if, as I suspect, the problem is one of leadership then Ramos is part of that.

I have little doubt there is considerable drama yet to unfold in that situation.

And if Ramos is still there at Christmas, I'll live on pies for a week.

Ramos has been sacked along with Poyet and Comolli and Harry Redknapp is the new Tottenham manager.

Hi ya,
Thanks for your comment on my article 'Cock-Sure' re: thr plight of Tottering Cock-Spurs.
I was intending to get back to you to agree that sacking Ramos was NOT the answer....but overnight they have & in turn brought in 'wide-boy Eastender' Harry Redknapp.
Hey so what do WE know about footy!!!!
Interesting decision & I'm sure 'Spud' fans will be delighted & Pompey fans gutted. However Harry has a history of wheeling & dealing unsuccessfully in the transfer marke, a problem Ramos had although apparently the Director of Footy made those decisons & he's gone too.
Spurs have spent a few bob on players since Ramos took over, so Harry will be taking over Ramos' team not his own! Will the Spurs owners give him any MORE dosh to splash out on players, when they have spent £30m on the likes of Bentley & Modric who have been to say the least poor this season.
I can see Defoe returning, & maybe David James to replace Coco the Clown in goal.
Georgie...one thing for sure put a few quid on the Spuds to win today v Bolton, cos those players know they have to perform today in front of Harry or they will be left to rot in thr reserves or simply sold. Spurs are 10/11 to win today. Dig deep & reep the rewards - AND should by chance they lose today then the dont need Harry they ned a magician! :-) Have a good day. Mark.
