Don't It Make Your Green Eyes Blue

Why did Kevin Keegan go back to Newcastle? I remember him saying something about unfinished business. I didn't see any 'job done' look in his eyes today I have to say.

I'm sure he has made a mistake. Remember never go back?

And Wenger, the man who never sees anything (leastways not when his players are misbehaving). His eyes were certainly working today. He saw the pain in Eduardo's eyes. Poor man.

We shouldn't let the events of today distract us from the Liverpool situation either. A good win in the end but a shaky start within a shakier context. One to still keep an eye on I would say.

As for the Foxes. Another 2 nil defeat. Enough to make my green eyes turn blue.

I think Keegan went back as he wants to push us back up the table and maybe win something - remember we won naff all under him despite being a damn good team at the time.

And I also believe he's the best man at the moment. Someone who actually cares about the *team* as well as the job. Let's be honest, there's not another job that could have got him out of management retirement. And that's because he cares about the job itself and the team he's working for, not just the cash. It's the same reason having a local lad in a number 9 shirt is so much better than having some random foreigner - pride, not cash.

Sure, we cuck right now but even watching us getting torn apart this evening... the football is better than I've seen in months. We *attacking*. We're *tackling*. We're stringing passes together. Players know where their team-mates are on the pitch.

What we're lacking is the right squad. We have 2 defenders. We're playing midfielders at the back (watch N'Zogbia for the first goal - woeful defending... but he's not a defender!). Keegan was signed too late into the transfer window and had no chance to purchase good players. In a way, I'm glad - he didn't just fling some money at a few players in the hope they'd fill a gap. The decision seems to have been made that we didn't have enough time to properly pick targets. The aim for this season is to stay up.

After summer with new signings in... *then* we'll see what we have in a manager. Right now, I'm just happy that the players' attitude seems to have improved.

Wow. That was a long response.

Well, I'm a girl who appreciates a bit of passion and I do believe that with enough of that and a little bit of magic you can make amazing things happen.

Lets hope the hard times both our teams are having will soon start to change.

I'd still ditch son of Satan though if I was you

Oh lord yes....little DW needs to go go go. You know my views on SK. But don't want to upset Mosher here. And he'd know...being a Toon fan...better than us southerners.

All I know, is that if you put a listening device beside his head......this is what you'd hear.

Good grief! A Leicester City supporter!

...There's hope for Oldham Athletic yet!

Correct, I am better than you :-P

I would suggest a suitable sound effect for yourself, but sadly I don't think that scientists have yet to pinpoint the exact sound of jealousy...

JVIP: Always nice to hear some crowing from a Royals fan. You don't have much to shout about after all

fourdinners: Thanks for dropping by. Even Oldham fans are welcome here.
Interesting name. Presumably a reflection of your love of pies?

mosher: There a quite a lot of things scientists have not yet pinpointed about JVIP.
